Briana Flin

Director of Digital

Briana Flin is a visual storyteller with a background in documentary and journalism.

She brings 7+ years of experience in multimedia content production to the Water Hub team and has covered a wide variety of topics, including science, culture, climate, and environmental justice. No matter the subject, her goal is always to tell stories in an accessible, creative, and visual way.

Prior to joining the Water Hub, Briana was a senior video producer with Nexus Media News, a nonprofit news service reporting on climate change. In that role, she produced short documentaries for both The Guardian and PBS Peril and Promise. Many of those stories covered water-related topics, including coastal restoration, sewage and sanitation, drought, flooding, polluted waterways, and lead.

Before that, Briana worked at WIRED, where she produced and edited videos for the magazine’s YouTube channel. Several of her stories garnered millions of views, including profiles of a kinetic sculptor, a boomerang champion, and a professional whistler.

Her work has also appeared in The Atlantic, The Nation, Yes! Magazine, Popular Science and Scripps News (formerly Newsy). She is a proud double alum of UC Berkeley and holds a master’s degree from their renowned Graduate School of Journalism.

Briana hails from and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. Outside of work, Briana can be found wrangling her giant rescue dog Dewey, organizing film screenings with her local chapter of The Video Consortium, experimenting with geeky photography projects, or concocting a new culinary delight to nosh on.
